Can Vitamin C Help Cancer Patients?

A new study done by the University of Kansas Medical Center revealed intravenous Vitamin C, combined with chemotherapy can kill cancer cells.

The study was conducted on a small scale of only 27 people, so further research is necessary to examine the benefits of Vitamin C as a cancer treatment.

Vitamin C being used as a treatment for cancer is nothing new. It was used as far back as the 1970’s by doctors to treat different types of cancer. Currently it is still used by alternative medicine doctors to treat cancer as well.

I think it’s great that the medical community is expanding cancer treatment studies to more natural and “unconventrial” treatments. Eastern Medicine and single case studies have shown that these treatments can have benefits in treating some cancer patients.

The question I have is: why aren’t we trying to prevent cancer from developing in the first place? I realize the medical community preaches early detection, etc. But what about actually preventing the development of cancer? Doing research on different toxins, chemicals, and dyes that may actually trigger the development of cancer could be a huge step in the right direction.
