Does Health Really Mean Everything?

As the ole saying goes, “if you have your health, you have everything”. If you sit back and think about that statement you will probably come to the conclusion and that it’s 100% right. What’s worse than having health issues and not being able to live life to the fullest because of pain, a sickness, or a disease? In my mind, not much could be.

Health allows you to make it to that LSU football game, go fishing, go to the lake with family, hike that mountain, and walk your daughter down the aisle, just to name a few. No one wants to miss out on these things in life. No one wants to be stuck at home feeling bad and sorry for himself or herself.

So can we agree that health is important? If it’s not the MOST important thing in a person’s life, then it’s pretty damn close. Would you leave something this important to chance? I guess what I am trying to say is, would you just hope to be healthy or would you try and work at it?

If you said, “work at it”, then great because that’s what it takes to be healthy. You have to work at it consistently; a few diets and exercise programs a few weeks out the year won’t cut it. Every day try to make one conscious decision to improve your health. Eat an apple instead of a candy bar, take the stairs instead of the elevator, and so on. You would be amazed at how things this small can affect your health in the long run.

So take health into your own hands and decide to be healthy. Work at it. You will be very happy you did.
